What You Should Do

• -Check your current spousal sponsorship processing time estimate at the IRCC Processing Times Tool (canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html) — times outside Quebec increased by one month as of July 7, 2026, so re-check if you submitted recently.
• -If you are a PGP, CEC, or Quebec Business Class applicant, log into your IRCC secure account to see if your application has moved forward, as processing times for these streams dropped by one to two months in the July 7 update.
• -If you are a spousal sponsorship applicant and have received a biometrics letter, book your biometrics appointment immediately — you have only 30 days from the date of the letter to attend a biometric collection site, and you must bring the letter and your passport.
• -If you are a citizenship applicant, check your application status via the IRCC portal, as citizenship grant processing times are now at a four-month low — this may mean your application advances sooner than previously estimated.
