Monday, May 25, 2026

As of May 11, 2026, IRCC has held 27 Express Entry draws in 2026, issuing 72,007 invitations to apply (ITAs) across 10 active categories.

The most recent draw (May 11) was a Provincial Nominee Program draw: 380 ITAs issued at a CRS cut-off of 798, with a tie-breaking date of January 7, 2026.

Category-based draws dominate 2026: CEC cut-offs have ranged 507–515, French draws as low as 393, and a record-low CRS of 169 was set in the Physicians draw on February 19.

What You Should Do

  • Check your current CRS score and compare it to recent cut-offs by visiting canada.ca/express-entry. CEC candidates need roughly 507–515; French-language candidates may qualify at 393–419; PNP holders need 795–802 in federal draws.
  • If you hold a Provincial Nomination, ensure your Express Entry profile is active and up to date at ircc.canada.ca — the May 11 PNP draw used a tie-breaking date of January 7, 2026, meaning older profiles have an advantage.
  • Review IRCC's full list of 10 active 2026 categories (including Physicians, Senior Managers, Trades, French-Language, Healthcare, CEC, PNP) at canada.ca/express-entry to determine if a category draw could invite you at a lower CRS than a general draw.
  • Monitor draw announcements closely — sources note Express Entry may be slowing its draw schedule after skipping expected draws in the week of May 11. Subscribe to IRCC notifications at canada.ca/immigration-alerts.

Topics Covered

CRS Cutoff Trends: CEC cut-offs held between 507–515 throughout Q1 2026; French-language draws ran as low as 393; the all-time record low CRS of 169 was set in the Physicians category draw on February 19, 2026.

Category-Based Selection System: IRCC ran draws across 10 active categories in 2026, with no general draws held — the system now strongly favors NOC code and occupation history alongside CRS score.
